It is especially time consuming translating interviews. I have been meaning to get back on UD regularly so my apologies for now. Ricks Pick: Tribute To Kreuzfeuer

This Ricks Pick is for the Tribute To Kreuzfeuer cd which is in memoriam of Jens Rahl, the deceased singer. This is an excellent 16 track compilation featuring some of the more well known names mostly from the German metal and death core scene. For those who don`t know, Kreuzfeuer was a pretty well known German band who formed as an Oi! band "Kroizfoier" in the early 90`s. They later took on a more metal/ death metal style for their second release and changed their name to Kreuzfeuer (Cross Fire) in the mid 90`s. The songs on this cd are covers of a previously released Kreuzfeuer song and aside from a few they are pretty heavy. This tribute cd also has a complete booklet full of eerie and dark yet beautiful "gothic" images. This cd was released by OPOS Records. We now have it in stock domestically at Label 56

Ricks Pick: Tribute To Totenkopf

This Ricks Pick goes to the Tribute To Totenkopf cd. This is the early 80`s French band Totenkopf and is actually the first time I had heard of this band. The songs on this cd are cover versions of songs they released which only came out as demos. I have been listening to this cd several times over now as it is has a great classic RAC sound (which is to be expected seeing as these songs were composed in the early 80`s) and I think anyone into a good old RAC sound will enjoy this cd. Ricks Pick: P.D.S.S. Totenkopf- Ljasnyja Braty

This Ricks Pick is going to the band P.D.S.S. Totenkopf for the cd Ljasnyja Braty. This is a black/ Pagan metal band from Belarus and this cd was their first full length. It was released in 2006 by Othal Productions. Black metal is a genre that I have never really gotten into, but more and more I have been finding myself listening to bands with a sound similar to P.D.S.S. and there are several that I do like. This particular cd combines some metal and black metal together as well as some folkish music and piano/ keyboards on some songs. I also like the vocals which are a bit more scratchy and don`t quite hit the high pitch screams found in a lot of bm bands. There are 16 songs on this cd as well as a great cover of the Absurd song Stahl Blitz Kalt. I have posted an mp3 here for the song New Time and the cd is also now available here at Label 56

Vidar- Waffentanz

Immortal Blood Records has a new cd out from Vidar titled Waffentanz. This cd is 6 songs of slow Pagan death metal with varying vocals and lyrics revolving around Norse mythology.

Rick`s Pick: Division Germania- Manifest

Division Germania is one of those awesome heavy German RAC bands in the same vein as Stahlgewitter and Macht Und Ehre and their music is matched by none others that I can think of. Being a fan of these bands and the music they create I am always excited to hear new music from them. This Ricks Pick pick goes to the newest Division Germania cd Manifest. I am sure this cd has been out at least a few months if not more, but I just recently got copies here at Label 56. Needless to say this is a great cd with that sound I love. This cd was released by PC Records and there are 13 tracks with a full booklet. The two stand out tracks to me are Die Nacht Neigt Sich Dem Ende and Lowenherz.
